Efret Shortlisted for BIFA ‘Extra Mile’ Award 2025 - Recognition for exceptional customer service in European logistics
Efret is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for the “Extra Mile” Award at the British International Freight Association (BIFA) Freight Service Awards 2025. This nomination recognises Efret’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and customer service that truly goes above and beyond.
Now in its 36th year, the BIFA Freight Service Awards celebrate outstanding achievements across the UK logistics and freight forwarding industry, highlighting organisations that demonstrate leadership, creativity, and sustained performance in a rapidly evolving sector. The “Extra Mile” category specifically honours companies that exceed customer expectations through dedication, initiative, and exceptional results - values that are at the heart of Efret’s business.
Efret’s shortlisting follows the company’s work on a pioneering Lightweight Vehicle Deployment Project for one of the world’s largest e-commerce businesses. Faced with the challenge of delivering improved middle mile efficiency, sustainability, and reliability across a complex, high-volume European network, Efret developed and implemented a unique approach to vehicle deployment and load optimisation.
By rethinking conventional road freight strategies, investing in real-time visibility systems, and collaborating closely with the client’s operations teams, Efret achieved a 20% increase in transport efficiency, alongside significant cost savings and near-perfect service performance. This performance was delivered during some of the most demanding operational periods in the retail calendar - ensuring network resilience, consistent delivery performance, and measurable environmental benefits.
Crucially, the project also demonstrated the impact of Efret’s sustainability-first philosophy. Through the use of lighter, more efficient vehicle configurations and data-driven route optimisation, Efret reduced fuel consumption and carbon emissions, supporting the client’s ambitious environmental goals while enhancing overall supply chain performance.
